Adelaide Strikers set a competitive total
After first choosing a bat, The Strikers posted a mammoth total of 186/5Thanks to contributions from Chris Lynn (49 off 27) and Alex Ross (47 off 29). Lynn’s aggressive start included five fours and three sixes while Ross anchored the middle innings with six fours and a maximum. Ollie Pope chipped in with a steady 33 off 27, providing a solid platform for the lower order. Jamie Overton provided the late fireworks with 27 not out off 18 balls.
Hobart’s bowlers had a mixed outing. Waqar Salamkheil took 2/22 in two overs, while Riley Meredith and Billy Stanlake took a wicket each. Chris Jordan had a tough night, conceding 46 runs in his four overs but was able to get the crucial wicket of Ross.

In reply, the Hurricanes got off to a flying start with Mitchell Owen playing a fiery 37 off just 16 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Matthew Wade also contributed 18 off 27, setting the stage for the middle order. However, the hosts lost the wickets of Shay Hope (11) and Ben McDermott (17) cheaply.
It was Tim David who turned the game on its head with an explosive 62 off just 28 balls that included three fours and six powerful sixes. Entering the field in the tense phase of the match, David dominated the bowlers with a breathtaking display of powerful hitting. partnership with Nikhil Chaudhary (22 from 22) steadied the innings before dropping a number of boundaries to take the game away from the Strikers. Jordan sealed the victory with a boundary as the Hurricanes chased the target by just 18.4 shots.

For the batsmen, Cameron Boyce picked up figures of 2/23 in four overs, while Lloyd Pope also took two wickets but proved costly conceding 38 runs. Henry Thornton was the only player to claim the goal, but the rest of the attack struggled to contain the Hurricanes’ hitting power.
