Tim David’s fireworks against Adelaide Strikers give Hobart Hurricanes their 4th straight win in BBL 2024-25



Hobart Hurricanes cruised to a comprehensive five-wicket victory over Adelaide Strikers in the 24th match. Big Boss League (BBL) 2024-25 at Bellerive Oval. Chasing a tough target of 187, the Hurricanes rode Tim David’s brilliant knock to record their fourth straight win of the season.

In reply, the Hurricanes got off to a flying start with Mitchell Owen playing a fiery 37 off just 16 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Matthew Wade also contributed 18 off 27, setting the stage for the middle order. However, the hosts lost the wickets of Shay Hope (11) and Ben McDermott (17) cheaply.

It was Tim David who turned the game on its head with an explosive 62 off just 28 balls that included three fours and six powerful sixes. Entering the field in the tense phase of the match, David dominated the bowlers with a breathtaking display of powerful hitting. partnership with Nikhil Chaudhary (22 from 22) steadied the innings before dropping a number of boundaries to take the game away from the Strikers. Jordan sealed the victory with a boundary as the Hurricanes chased the target by just 18.4 shots.

For the batsmen, Cameron Boyce picked up figures of 2/23 in four overs, while Lloyd Pope also took two wickets but proved costly conceding 38 runs. Henry Thornton was the only player to claim the goal, but the rest of the attack struggled to contain the Hurricanes’ hitting power.
