Tim Bradley says Moses Itauma’s first round victory over Dillian Whyte last Saturday night was not enough to prove that he was ready to challenge Oleksandr Ulsyk for his undisputed heavyweight championship.
Itauma’s lack of experience
Bradley points out that 20-year-old Itauma (13-0, 11 COs) has not even gone past six rounds in his two-year professional career. If he is fighting against Ulsyk, the champion will make it a point to take him past six rounds to “drown” him in the second half.
Itauma did not have a long amateur career to prepare him for the top heavyweights such as Ulkyk. As amateur, itauma has only 20 Fights before becoming a pro and not facing the world’s top fighters. In contrast, Oleksandr has 350 Amateur fights, fought the best fighters in the world and won an Olympic gold medal in 2012.
Queensberry has beaten Itauma since he became pro in 2023 and matched him exclusively against travelers. Last Saturday was the last of old washed veterans to fight Itauma with his main assignment against 37-year-old Whyte in Riyadh.
The battle of the British media
The glass that Itauma received for the struggle of British media and uninformed fans showed that they actually believed he was fighting the best in the world instead of another guy for superficial record performances. In other words, smoke and mirrors.

Whyte had a puncher’s chance, but he was even too brilliant to try to throw. He looked rust, slow and not strong on the weight. He lost a great deal of weight for this battle, and came to the lowest in a decade. Sometimes when people lose overweight weight, they complain that they are weaker. It seemed to be the case with Whyte. He took out too much pounds in training camp.
