ALEDO, Texas – Even on the verge of his end back surgeryTiger Woods is staying busy. On Thursday, he is expected to officially announce his second Texas course design project, Bluejack Ranch, in this small town west of Fort Worth.

The course, which will be the centerpiece of a private clubhouse community set on a 900-acre working farm, is slated to open in 2026. Backers of the project are Andy Mitchell and his wife, Kristin, the same developers who built National Bluejackwhich when it opened near Houston in 2016 was the site of the first Woods course design in the US.

Also on the development team is former PGA Tour player JJ Henry, a Fort Worth resident who played with Woods on the 2006 US Ryder Cup team that lost in Europe at the K Club outside Dublin, Ireland.

“This is an incredible piece of property with dramatic elevation changes and great views,” Henry told GOLF.com. “This is a very proud moment for everyone to come together for something we’ve been working on for many years.”

Woods will collaborate on the course with his TGR Design partner, Beau Welling.

The property will also include practice facilities, a lighted 10-hole par-3 course, a large family entertainment area, a spa and wellness area and a podcast studio – similar offerings to those available at Blackjack National.

Woods’ design business is just one of his many non-playing duties. He is also the co-founder of the TGL indoor golf league, which is scheduled to begin in early 2025, and he sits on the PGA Tour Policy Board, which is in the process of helping shape the future of professional golf. for men. Woods turned down a request from the PGA of America to serve as captain of the 2025 US Ryder Cup, saying his schedule did not allow him time to do the job properly.
