The marathon man will promote the starting rifle of the event Monday May 5
Chris Thompson, 2:10 Marathons and 4:01 Miller will be broken at 9. Monday May 5 on Bank holiday for the second annual Bannister community miles.
For the first time, the wave runners will then raise St Aldates, slide high levels and will end up at IFFLEY Road. They go down to the famous track to take their medals. This is the same location where 71 years ago Roger Bannist was the first person to break the seemingly impervious barrier to run miles in four minutes.
Thompson ran Britain for Marathon at the Marathon, Tokyo Olympic Games. Before that, he won a European silver medal at a distance of 10,000 meters.
After its starting responsibilities, Chris will work miles on his family with his four-year-old son.

Anniversary celebrations continue in the afternoon with Bannister Track Miles. These are all four grandmasters race at Sir Roger Bannister Track, IFFLEY ROAD SPORTS Center. The cars are drawing athletes from all over Britain and abroad.

Watching on the track is free, there will be food and drinks that will be available along with other stables and afternoon activities. The rear races start from 2.30 to the evening and include junior, senior and dance events. The day ends at 6 pm, with the elite tribes of men and women. It is expected that a number of sub-bilogs will return The event of last year’s menduring which four athletes ran in four minutes, the winner creates a new time record.
