This tweak produces more twist of hip (and longer discs)

The hip curve is an essential component for generating energy in your golf swing. If you are limited by your side, it becomes much harder to get the length needed to generate the speed of the club.

Getting an effective hip twist is easier for some players than others. When you are young and flexible, producing a massive turn is relatively simple. But as you grow old and your body does not move so well, it becomes more difficult.

If you are one of those aging players (or you have an injury that prevents a proper turn), there is still hope. With a simple configuration, you can return like you in your new years and the explosion runs down the road like you in your prime minister.

1 tweak for more hip twist

The limited hip rotation results in lower club speeds and shorter discs. However, if you can only go back a little more, you can immediately fix that problem. All you have to do is make a simple tweak in your configuration.

To get an initial base for the amount you turn back, grab a stretch or golf club and hold it across the waist. Then, make a twist at the top and notice how far you can turn.

Now, take your attitude again, but this time drop your foot trail leg just a touch and flame your foot of the trail just a little. Then, make the same turn on the top of the back.

“What I generally see with players who have narrow hips, especially on the side of the tracks, when they come back, they will stop and then rise,” McDonagh says. “When we throw the right foot and light it, the hip continues to rotate and the club can stay more on the plane.”

If you are someone who tries to get as much as possible the hip bend, give a stroke. This should help you make a fuller turn and take you to a much better position to generate power.
