Rory Mcilroy made a scouting trip to Augusta National earlier this week in preparation for his latest race to win the Grand Slam career.
The great winner four times admits that there is not much that he collects during these exits. After the start of the 17 masters, he knows the course well and simply uses the time to play a round of practice without having to worry about the distractions and hubbubs of the masters week.
“I use those trips just to rehabilitate myself with the place, clubs out, looking to see if they changed any greens,” Mcilroy said Wednesday before starting it in Houston of children in Texas Open. “There are four greens that are new this year that they have rebuilt them. You just kind, you see them and see if there are any new positions of the holes they give you, such things.
But there was a change of course that caught Mcilroy’s eye.
Augusta National was hit hard by Hellenic Hurricane In September when winds 130 MPH destroyed the course in the course.
“As for the Golf Course, he was really touched as the rest of the community was,” said President Fred Ridley at the Asia-Pacific amateur championship in October. “There was a lot of damage and we have a lot of people who work hard to get us back and run.”
Satellite images of a few weeks later showed that two trees collapsed in the 16th green. Mcilroy noted changes in the 16th hole, including a new green during his journey.
“Losing some trees is obviously visible,” Mcilroy said. “But in terms of as they had to redo it green, but it’s exactly the same as it was. The hole will play – besides perhaps some shades less in green a day due to some trees that lost – but besides, it’s almost very the same.”
Since the passage of a spring date, Houston Open of children in Texas has attracted more the best players seeking to tune for masters. But while the memorial park serves as useful preparation to see the first year, Mcilroy, which is exiting a win in the player championshipHe said he is focused only on his four rounds in the Lone Star state.
“I just want to get a card in hand and shoot results and hope to get myself in quarrel and try to win another golf tour,” Mcilroy said. “It’s not like playing here this week and I’m thinking for two weeks.
