At GOLF.com, we come across all kinds of goodies. Here, we reveal some of our favorites from the past year.
Why this gear is a must for golf trips
Anyone who travels knows that when you arrive at your destination, your body doesn’t feel like it enough right. After hours in the car or cramped in an airline seat, it takes a while for your body to move the way you’re used to. This can pose some problems if you are going directly from the airport on the first round.
And I know that when I go on a trip with friends, I make it a point to play as much golf as possible, which often means freezing it right after arriving. However, after a long day in transit, my body rarely cooperates. Without the benefit of some serious stretching and massages, my swing speed is down, my feel around the greens is off and my game is sluggish. Not exactly a great recipe for success.
So where do you turn for answers? No one knows how to travel and play good golf better than the pros. However, with a physio in the traveling squad, this is not a surprise. After all, these are professional athletes. But there’s another secret to their recovery process—and it comes in the form of a variety of devices from Hyperice, the PGA Tour’s official recovery system.

Hyperice offers a variety of products for optimal recovery, but for me the most useful is the Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2. This mini massage gun is small enough to travel with me wherever I go and helps me relax once I’m there.
Like most recovery guns, the Hypervolt Go 2 delivers a shock massage for on-the-go relief—and it’s so easy to use that even the most technologically deficient among us can figure it out. All you have to do is keep it charged and press the button to turn it on. Easy peasy.
My recovery after a long day of riding has never been better since I started using the Hypervolt Go 2 – and my results at the start of my rides have never been lower. The only downside is now that I don’t have any good excuses for bogeys in my early starts. Now, I have no one to blame but myself.
It’s a small price to pay for the relief I feel when using the Hypervolt Go 2.
