Nineteen years after he defeated Richard Gasquet in his debut in Madrid, Gjokovic confronts a second “new reality” with his three games losing the season.
Throughout his career, Grand Slam King has been driven to capture championships.
These days, Gjokovic admits it is a challenge to win matches.
“A kind of new reality for me, I have to say,” Djokovic said. “You know, trying to win a match or two, not really thinking about going away on the tournament.
“It is a completely different feeling from what I have had in the 20 years of professional tennis, so it’s a kind of challenge for me to really face these kinds of feelings in court, coming out early regularly on the tour.

Last August, Gjokovic played a vintage match of Djokovic by dueling Carlos Alcaraz, 7-6, 7-6, to capture the Olympic gold medal for Serbia.
Continuing his attempt for a 100th career championship and a 25th Grand Slam record record, Gjokovic said he is directed by the main pursuits. Formerly -Bota Nr. 1 also sees the big picture and knows with Alcaraz by withdrawing from Madrid with damage and World Jannik Sinner No. 1 settled to return to Rome, none of his two main rivals would be 100 percent for Paris.
This gives hope to Miami Djokovic’s finalist, but he knows that profit is the only answer. For now, that is not happening.
“I’m trying, you know. You use this as a driving force for the future,” Gjokovic said. “Of course Grand Slams, I was saying many times, are the most important tours to me. This does not mean I don’t want to win here, of course I wanted, but, you know, Grand Slams is where I really want to play the best tennis.
“I’m not sure if I will be able to do it in Roland Garros, but I will do my best.”
Roland Garros begins on May 25th. The question is: Can Djokovic find his game and confidence next month? And if he goes deep in Paris, will he degrade his body in his body the chances of Wimbledon, Slam many champions believe it is his best goal for a large 25?
These questions are all part of his “new reality”.

Based on his current three -match slide, Gjokovic said he is not a favorite of the French Open and hopes he will facilitate the pressure he feels trying to win his first title from Paris.
“Well, I mean, the eyes, the pressure is part of the sport and part of what we do at this higher level, so it will never go away, you know, it’s just a different kind of pressure,” Djokovic said. “But whenever I go to trial I feel the nerves, I feel stress, I feel everything I think all the other players feel, and excitement as well.
“So I still like to compete. It became a little more challenging for me, to be honest. But of course, as I said, I’ll do my best for the future. Grand Slam, I’m not going to Roland Garros as one of the main favorites. Maybe it can help, we will not see.”
