This BIG MAX push golf cart made walking a joy: I tried it

Welcome to I tried ita GOLF.com series about golf articles — clothing, equipment, accessories and more – that we recently took out for a spin. We’re here to give our honest and simple opinions on the latest and greatest golf or golf related articles. So scroll down to read about what we love about the newest (or new to us) golf products.

The weather has finally turned here in Arizona, with cool mornings and evenings replacing the scorching summer heat until the sunset that lasted until October this year.

The new temperatures mean I can finally start walking the golf course again – my favorite way to play. And now that I have joined the stroller clubwalking feels even easier, especially with the latest edition of the BIG MAX, Blade IP 2 pushcartwhich I took out for a test spin on my most recent round. Here are the things I liked most about it.

Portability

The best feature of the Blade IP 2 is that it folds into an almost flat position in just two steps, making storage and portability easy. The rear wheels fold up automatically so they take up very little space in the back of the car or in the garage where I keep mine between spins. It’s not heavy either – the aerospace-grade aluminum is so light (13.6 lbs) that I can easily lift it with one hand. But once the stroller is locked into place for use, it feels sturdy, not flimsy.

Adjustable push height

The Blade IP 2 allows you to set your desired thrust height for the handle, which is a really nice feature, especially when you’re only 5’4″.

Two leg breaks provide plenty of stopping power, even on slippery and uneven terrain.

Smooth ride

All three wheels provided a super smooth ride and I had no problem going up and down hills. I made sure to be careful going over curbs and other raised surfaces, but the cart has zero performance issues during the round.

Variety

I love that this stroller is available in more colors than basic black. You can choose from four other options, from white to charcoal, or black with red or lime green accents.

Bungee clips

I won’t lie – it took me an embarrassing amount of time to get it to fit properly around the base of my bag. But once I put it on, I appreciated the tight grip the straps gave the bag, allowing it to stay securely in place throughout the round.

Storage

As someone with a lot of stuff, the XL storage box in the handle is a big plus. There’s enough room for a standard water bottle, spacers and more. I removed all my covers before playing, but investing in a basket that extends to the bottom of the cart would be a wise move for anyone who wants to have more items outside instead of zipped up in your bag.

Ultimately, the only thing I felt could be improved about the stroller is the inclusion of some accessories, like an external drink holder and phone holder. But as luck would have it, BIG MAX is currently running an epic promotion: every cart order includes a free accessory pack (drink holder, phone holder and attachable umbrella holder) – an $87.50 value! So take advantage while you can. If you’re a walking golfer, you’re sure to love all this push cart has to offer.
