There was high drama like Korn Ferry Tour The championship went down on Sunday in Indiana.

Not only to see who will end up with the trophy, but also to find out who will grab the coveted 30 PGA Tour cards who were looking for the leaders in the points standings during the season.

Coming into the final KFT event, 17 players knew they were affiliated with the PGA Tour during their play throughout the season, which left 13 spots still to be determined.

As the final toss fell, one of those undealt cards went to this week’s winner, Braden Thornberrywho put together a final round of six-under 66 in tough conditions at French Lick to attack from six shots behind to start the day and win by one.

Thornberry, the 2017 NCAA champion and former top-ranked amateur, entered the week 51st in the rankings, meaning a win was essential for him to move on. The same was true for Doc Redman, who led for most of the day but bogeyed the 15th hole and came up short, denying him a return to the PGA Tour.

The final group also decided who would get the 30th card, but indirectly. Brian Campbell, who already had his Tour card locked up this week, hit a six-foot par at the last to secure himself a three-way tie for second with Redman and Alistair Docherty.

Do you miss it? A two-way tie for second meant Docherty had earned enough points to finish 30th on the points list and receive his PGA Tour card. Do I do that? Docherty then doesn’t earn enough points from a three-way tie and Noah Goodwin, who bogeyed his final hole to finish T44, slips back into the top 30.

Campbell cleared the free-kick, making Goodwin’s dream come true but Docherty’s heart breaking.
