A dancing Theofimo Lopez posted on X today, referring to a ‘Spike vs. Tom ‘picture, with a crying Shakur Stevenson in a tip that the two will fight in early 2026.
WBO Light Welterweight Champion Theofimo (22-1, 13 food) used its advertising slogan, “Let’s make boxing amazing again,” In the contemporary post on X, which is the same line as Shakur repeated on July 25 in his initial call of Lopez on social media. That’s when Stevenson started his campaign for the Lopez match.
The weeping shakur meme
The picture Lopez used in his post today is from Shakur crying from his loss of Cuba Robeisy ramirez In the final of the 2016 Olympics on August 20 of that year. Shakur cried without tears when he was questioned after the fight. The photo of Stevenson -Huil was converted to x by some users in a meme.

A battle for 2026?
Lopez considers himself “spike” the Bulldog and Shakur (24-0, 11 cost) as the cat, “Tom”, that he will beat. At least theofimo did not use the ‘Tom and Jerry’ cartoon reference in today’s tip for his fight against Stevenson. Fans do not want to see the type of struggle. They want to be entertained for their money, especially if this collision is shown on Dazn PPV.
Shakur’s fighting against Edwin de Los Santos, Jeremiah Nakathilia, Artem Harutyunyan and Josh Padley were criticized by fans as dull for the hit-and-not-hit style used by Stevenson. While that fighting approach echoes with a segment of the fan base, large portions find the style uninteresting to look at.
Stevenson’s Last Fight Against WBC Interim Lightweight Champion William Zepeda, On July 12, 2025, In Queens, New York, Has Saemingly Shifted His Focus from Pursuing A Mega-Fight Against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis to Targeting Targeting at 140. Shakur Has Shown No Interest Lightweights in His Weight Class, Andy Cruz, Abdullah Mason, Floyd Schofield, or Raymond Muratalla.
