Teofimo Lopez says his team reached out to Ryan Garcia’s promoter, Oscar de la Hoya, for a fight, but the Golden Boy management rejected the collision.
Theo target crying shakur
Lopez (22-1, 13 costs) mentions that he will target Shakur Stevenson for a fight with the intention of making him disappear and leave him in tears. Hopefully it’s not Shakur crying tearless As he did in the Olympic final in 2016 after losing against Cuba Robeisy ramirez. It was strange. He cries without tears. It looked so false.
Golden Boy rejects Lopez offer
De la Hoya recently told Dazn that he wants theofimo for Ryan Garcia, not a re -broadcast with Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero. For Oscar to change his mind about Lopez for Kingry, it indicates that he is cooking something else that would pay better, or one that would give him a good chance to win. He will probably be a big underdog against theofimo.
There is no one at 140 for Ryan to fight who is popular as Lopez. At 147, it’s just 46-year-old Manny Pacquiao and Rolly. Fighting Pacquiao will make Ryan look stupid, especially if he loses or looks bad in the win.

Is Shakur now unbeatable by decision?
If Shakur (24-0, 11 COs) is the best that theofimo can do, it is understandable why he would go in that direction. But he must be warned. Stevenson is not going to fight against him as he did William Zepeda. He’s going to be on his bike, fighting like Edwin de Los Santos in 2023, and will make it all but impossible to land something other than a stitch.
With the way the judges scored the Shakur-Zepeda fight, Lopez should think carefully about whether it is worth fighting against him. The judges did Zepeda Dirty, who gave him no credit to surpass Shakur in almost every round of the fight.
They scored the fight as if it were a blow -out victory for Stevenson, and even gave the early rounds when Zepeda worked against the ropes. What has shown the fight is that Shakur is now receiving the elite treatment we see that fighters like Canelo Alvarez receive, in which the judges walk around his favor who have to go to the opponent.
Unless Theofimo knocks Stevenson, he probably won’t get the decision by the judges. I don’t see that happening. Despite the fact that he is very boring to look with his imitation retro early 2000’s mayweather-esque Fighting style, Shakur is now an A-list fighter, and it will be impossible to beat him through a decision.
