Theofimo Lopes told the media today that he is not racist and that people mistakenly thought he was the one who sent the bananas to Keyshawn Davis’ locker room this week of his battle with Denys Bernchyk.

WBO lightweight champion Lopez (21-1, 13 CO’s) cleared up some of the remarks he made about Terence Crawford. He says they talked about it and he let him know that he was just trying to fight with him.
For Theofimo to have any chance of possibly getting a big mega match against Crawford, he must have his upcoming match against Arnold Barboza jr. Wen on May 2 at Times Square in New York. That important struggle could lead to him facing Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis in October.
“I think Tank did what he had to do. It was a big fight. I think they should do a re -broadcast, ”Theofimo Lopez told the media When asked about his thoughts on last Saturday’s battle between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach. “I felt Roach had done enough as combinations, but it didn’t really matter at this point. It’s goat business, guys, ”Lopez said when asked what he was thinking about the tank that took a knee in ninth place.
Lopez is one of the few people who felt that the WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis had done enough to win his fight against Lamont Roach last Saturday. Theofimo did not worry too much about the tank that took a knee and the referee blowed the call in ninth place.
“I still think Gervonta will win against Shakur. Crawford and I connected. So we have discussed whatever it is. He asked me what it was about, and I said, ‘I’m trying to get a fight against everyone. I’m trying to fight you for 154, ” Theofimo said he was cleaning up things with Terence Crawford about some of the racist remarks he made in the media.
“The whole thing was almost so. He (Crawford) does not intend to fight anyone until he gets Canelo, which is in September and at Allegiant Stadium (in Las Vegas). So all of this is out of the window. So, all I can do now is get a sparring session, I think (with Crawford). ‘
TheOFIMO will have to win all three of his fights on his contract with Turki Alalshikh for him to have a chance to fight against Crawford because he does not bother to face him if he is beaten. Some fans believe that Teo will lose all three fights with his contract with Turki.
Racism denial
“They don’t hate the good. They had the big ones, ”Lopez said when asked about the people the question his achievements. “It’s just a part of it. It is competition and currency. No matter what it is, I’m a champion. I am the only champion (at the Fatal Fury Conference) at this table. I’m all alone.
“We are all racists, each of us. Do you know why? Because we are the most important race against the one true race. The human race. We are all divided, all of us. 10,000 religions all of us. We are all black. I got an African tattoo. I got Africa there. They said the first person was a monkey named Lucy. I’m not racist. It’s not racist, ”Theofimo said when asked why he said racist things.
“That’s how you take it. A banana is potassium. You depict an item. You added a stereotype. All I ate with the banana and laughed about it. You thought I sent it, ”The Aofimo said about the media and fans who believe he sent a box of bananas to Keyshawn Davis’s hotel room this week of his fight against the WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14.
