Theofimo Lopez posted on social media tonight and said he was “Fire” by Turki Alalshikh, which indicates that their partnership has ended. If WBO Light Welterweight Champion Lopez (22-1, 13 COs) is financially fired by Turki, it would be an important blow to his career. He would not fight in Turki’s events.

Turki Alalshikh’s silence
Turki has not yet made a statement confirming what theofimo says about ending their working relationship.
Recently, Lopez pushed hard and tried to get a fight against the United Welterweight Champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. He hoped Turki would help make the fight happen. If Lopez is fired, his chances of getting the boots become less likely.
Ennis is focused on capturing the last two belts needed to be unapproved. He was not excited about postponing his purpose to defend against theofimo.
Jaron Ennis: Tires over pay days
Unlike other fighters, which are focused on money, Jaron (34-0, 29 COs) cares more about competition. So, he would rather achieve his goals than take time for a nice payday against theofimo Lopez or other fighters. Ennis is in a race against time.
It is more critical for Ennis to capture the belts as quickly as possible, as it becomes increasingly difficult for him to make the 147 pound limit. If you take time to defend against theo, it will be more difficult for him to achieve his goal. He probably should have moved up to 154 a year ago, but he was chosen to stay to capture the belts. Larger fights await 154 on boots, but he is determined to stay at 147 as long as it lasts.
Barboza struggle: Poor performance
Theofimo recently defended his WBO title against Arnold Barboza jr. On May 2 at the Times Square meeting in New York in New York. It was not an exciting performance by showing the Thee, which was mainly coming around, displaying and using a Shakur-Esque style, and did not try to get the fight for the fans who ordered the opportunity on PPV.
It was ugly to look at, and one of the worst fights on the map. Devin Haney’s clash against Jose Ramirez fought the honor as the most indisputable battle.
