WBO Light Welterweight Champion Theofimo Lopez has the threat that its compulsory Arnold Barboza jr. Determined, to a minimum and minimized him as a mere “Stepping Stone” to bigger things in his career when they fight on the Times Square in New York on May 2.
Teo (21-1, 13 CO’s) does not want to admit that Barboza (32-0, 11 COs) is the biggest threat to him since his fight with Vasily Lomachenko in 2020.
Although Lopez later in 2021 by George Kambosos jr. And probably lost to Sandor Martin and Chailaine Ortiz, he was supposed to easily win the fights. The judges gave Lopez gifts against Jailaine and Sandor, but he was well beaten.
Barboza jr. Has the kind of talent that the judges will put in an impossible position: they dare not win the A-side theofimo.
“Stepping Stone”
“It’s the biggest battle in his life, and it’s just another stack in my career, and we did,” Theofimo Lopez said Top rank boxTalk about his WBO compulsory Arnold Barboza jr. “Put him in front of me and I’m always going to hit him.
“We’re all going to show second place, why we are the truth, and why we are the myth. I look forward to what Arnold Barboza wants to bring to the table, but I guarantee you, it is very different if you are in the ring with me, ”says Theofimo.
Something made theofimo feel like he could walk on the water now, and I don’t know what. Was that his last fight against Steve Claggett? Hopefully, Lopez realizes that Top Rank has done a soft work for him after struggling against Chailaine Ortiz. He needed a confidence to the way he looked in that battle.
Barboza now looks unbeatable, and it will take theofimo at its best to win this battle. In Barboza Jr.’s last two fights, he beat Jack Catterall and Jose Ramirez. One of the guys has an excellent chance of beating Lopez.
