The New York Yankees recently received some tough news as their superstar shortstop Juan Soto opted to sign with the New York Mets in free agency this offseason.
Many people around Major League Baseball believed that Soto’s decision would come down to the Mets or the Yankees, which ultimately appears to have been the case.
Soto signed with the Mets for $765 million over 15 years, while the Yankees reportedly offered about $760 million over 16 years.
One thing MLB insider Jon Heyman has revealed is that the Yankees won’t give Soto their contract offer.
Heyman reported that the Yankees would not refuse to give Soto a suite at Yankee Stadium.
Per: @JonHeyman: (https://t.co/JSujYVcHY2The Yankees “wouldn’t hesitate” to give Juan Soto a suite at Yankee Stadium, feeling it couldn’t be done when Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter paid for their own suites.

Heyman said the Yankees were unable to offer Soto a suite because Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter had previously paid for their own suites.
Although it is unknown if this was a deal breaker for Soto, the Mets and their billionaire Steve Cohen included a Citi Field suite for Soto’s family in his deal.
The Yankees appear to have done everything possible to bring Soto back next season, but now they must adjust to life after Soto.
With the largest trade in MLB history now in place, the Yankees may look elsewhere for free agent talent.
By not signing Soto, the Yankees have plenty of money to spend on what is still a very talented free agent class.
The Yankees will look to return to the World Series in 2025 and win their first title since the 2009 season.
