It looks like Marcus Rashford’s time at Man United is slowly but surely coming to an end, and former professional turned pundit Stan Collymore has suggested it is not too soon.

Just 18 months or so ago, Rashford was one of the form players Premier League as he enjoyed a brilliant campaign under former manager, Erik ten Hag.

However, since then the player has not come close to reaching those heady heights. Stan Collymore believes he knows why and what the solution to Rashford’s problems will be.
“Marcus Rashford should leave Manchester United. I’ve been saying that for probably a couple of years now, and he should go abroad or to a progressive club in the Premier League,” he told CaughtOffside for his exclusive column.
“Would it be a West Ham or a Brighton or even a Bournemouth? Would the Cherries go for a big fish and see if he could go to a smaller pond and enjoy his football on the south coast? That’s not so ridiculous, but could they pay it?
“I think there will be people for Rashford, whether from Germany or Italy, but I’m not so sure about Spain.
“He just needs to enjoy the game and love it again, and I wonder if in the last five or six years if he’s ever done that. He always seems to have the weight of the world on his shoulders.
“For me, it’s very simple. Either you go to a wildcard in terms of a Bournemouth, or you go abroad to somewhere like Napoli or AC Milan.”
Marcus Rashford’s wages will be an obstacle
The stumbling block will, of course, be Rashford’s wages. according to capologythe 27-year-old earns a whopping £300,000-a-week, putting him level with captain Bruno Fernandes and only behind Casemiro (£350,000-a-week) in the pecking order.
That will almost certainly go beyond the Premier League clubs Collymore has mentioned, and may even be too much for the likes of Milan and Napoli.
In the end, United may have to accept that they will lose a lot of money on a player who, despite not costing them a penny, has ended up becoming a liability.
