The USA kicks off the USATF Tour

A coordinated appointment calendar will enhance and unify the internal calendar

INDIANAPOLIS – OCTOBER 20, 2025 – USA Track & Field (USATF), the national governing body for United States track and field, announced the creation of the USATF Tour; a transformative opportunity to elevate professional racing through the standardization of best practices, coordinated schedules, and financial, marketing, and logistical support of the Federation.

Beginning in 2026, the USATF Tour will bring together World Athletics-labeled events, as well as those seeking World Athletics labels, with the goal of expanding sponsorship opportunities, enhancing athlete development and providing a consistent experience for fans and viewers.

In 2025, 19 World Athletics Continental Tour matches, two Grand Slams and one Diamond League match in the United States battled for attention over a 15-week period. This disorganized approach creates unnecessary competition for athlete participation as well as ticket sales, broadcast windows and viewership. As a national federation, it is USATF’s responsibility to facilitate collaboration to streamline this landscape by establishing a strategic national calendar, joint marketing and media support, and consistent competition standards.

“The USATF Tour is a collective investment in the future of our sport,” said USATF CEO Max Siegel. “It addresses some of the major challenges facing athletics in the United States, including a fragmented schedule, overlapping events and scattered media coverage. Together with dedicated match organizers across the country, we can deliver stronger competition, a better fan experience and greater value for athletes, partners and communities.”

Key benefits of the USATF Tour:

  • Unified connection. Participating meetings retain their independence and local identity by joining a nationally coordinated calendar.
  • Enhanced athlete and fan experience. Standardized prize money, hospitality and digital engagement enhance the quality of each event.
  • Enhanced media and sponsorship access. Co-marketing, media coordination and collective sponsorship packages increase visibility and revenue opportunities.
  • The name of the World Athletics Continental Tour. Each confirmed meet is eligible for World Athletics Ranking Points and Federation support.
  • Operational support from USATF. Available resources include drug testing, officials, broadcast coordination, medical support and branding assets valued at $15,000–$50,000 per event.

Existing and newly formed meetings can be started apply to be part of the tour The process will close immediately on October 31st. USATF will work with meet organizers to announce the full calendar at its annual meet on December 5, 2025. Please contact for questions (email protected).
