Jannik sinful is at a pulsating start like the world No.1.
The Italian has won 47 of his 50 initial matches since holding the highest ranking of ATP. It is a relatively small sample size, compared to many of the 29 players who previously held the highest ranking of the tour, but is far and far away.
The winning percentage of 94 percent of Sinner in matches played as World No.1 is more than two percentage points higher than Bjorn Borg, which ranks second with a winning percentage 91.9 (136-12) as no. 1.
It comes to third place is Jimmy Connors, the only player who has won more than 90 percent of his total matches played in No.1. Connors went 408-45 (90.1 percent) as the top dog of ATP.
If you are wondering how Sinner accumulates against the three big ones: Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal each played over 300 games at No.1. Gjokovic played mostly from the three big ones, winning 485 and losing 78 for a winning percentage 86.1. Grand Slam King ranks sixth of all time in category. No other player has competed in more than 500 matches in No.1.

Federer went 430-56 for a winning percentage of 88.5 as No.1, and ranks fifth for all time. Nadal went 268-44 (85.9 percent) and ranks eighth all the time.
According to the ATP, the sinner has gained a significantly higher percentage of his matches as no. 1 (94%) than he was at the top (74.3%).
The 23-year-old champion three times is up to 34 weeks in total as no. 1. He is trying to become only the fifth player in history to extend his first ranking in ATP ranking in more than a year. Players who have previously reached that feat are Roger Federer (237 weeks), Connors (160 weeks), Lleyton Hewitt (75 weeks) and Djokovic (53 weeks).
