Tour Championship 2024, the grand final of FedEx Cup Playoffshas arrived, and we’re picking a long-shot that was one of the runners-up at last week’s BMW Championship. Here’s our long pick, tournament championship odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.
Tournament Championship Odds: Long Bet
For this week’s season in Atlanta, we’re picking Adam Scottwhich comes in at +6600 odds to win as our long shot to come from behind and win the FedEx Cup.
Why does Scott have to come from behind? In the tournament championship, players receive initial points based on their FedEx Cup ranking, with No. 1 Scottie Scheffler receiving the top assist and starting 10 under. Scott, on the other hand, is tied for 14th and will start the tournament three shots under, seven shots behind Scheffler.
But Scott earned that 14th position last week as he came close to winning the BMW Championship, ultimately settling for a T2 finish.
If you bet $10 on Scott to win both the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup and he does, you’ll win $660.
Looking for more tournament championship long bets? This week’s honorable mentions are Viktor Hovland (+6600) and Tony Finau (+6600).
Tournament Championship Odds: Favorites
The betting favorites for East Lake are similar to BMW, but their odds have improved thanks to their initial results. World number 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the way with +110 odds to win. Xander Schauffele comes right behind Scheffler at +240, and Hideki Matsuyama starts in third place at +1000 odds to win.
