Ryan Garcia outlined his four-year-old hit list of top guys who he wants to fight to test his strength and ability. It may be just a coincidence, but the individuals who have Kingry, 27, on his target list are those who would bring him great wallets of millions.
No mention of a Rolly Rematch
Garcia (24-2, 20 COs) arrives a unanimous decision loss of 12 round to Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on May 2 in a fight for the vacant WBA Welterweight title at Times Square in New York. Surprisingly, Ryan made no mention that he wanted to avenge his loss of Rolly, and he was not on his hit list.

Those fighters may not necessarily be the best in their respective weight classes. The divisions in which these fighters compete are now so strong that it is likely that none of their world titles would hold if there was only one belt, and they had to face the crème de la crème in their weight class to win them.
Complete the chapter “Four Kings”
“I still want to fight against theofimo. We were seen as the ‘Four Kings’, and I want to be the first one to complete it. I fought a tank. I fought Devin. I want to fight against the tank again, ‘Ryan Garcia said Ring championsand revealed his hit list of fighters.
That small list quickly loses importance. Haney looked poor in his first battle against Jose Ramirez on May 3 after being stepped by Ryan on April 20, 2024. Some fans believe that Haney is shocked from the loss. Tim Bradley says he suspects that Devin has PTSD and has been mentally traumatized from his defeat to Kingry.
Gervonta Davis appears to be at the end of his career. He may have just left a few fights in him before he retires. Would he fight Garcia again? Maybe, but what difference does it make? Tank doesn’t fight the best and looks like he just plays his rope before hanging the gloves.
If theofimo loses against Shakur Stevenson in 2026, he will also be worthless for Ryan. It would be useless for him to face him.
A race against Terence Crawford’s career
“I do want to fight against Shakur because it is someone I have competed with since the amateurs. I want to fight against Terence Crawford. I want to fight everyone who is a big name,” Garcia said.
If Kingry is serious about wanting to fight Crawford, he has to start calling for now because he doesn’t have much time left. He turns 38 on eight days on September 28, and he will probably retire after two or three fights, depending on the outcomes and how long he chooses to sit from the ring between each fight. Fighting him when he is 41 or 42 will not be interesting to the fans.
Ryan says he wants to see if the top fighters on his hit list can take his lap. This is one of the reasons he wants to fight against them. He wants to test his power and face what he sees best.
Garcia’s view on ‘manufactured’ champions
Garcia considers world titles less critical. His focus is on beating the best and maximizing his earnings. When the belts come with it, it’s great, but that’s not what he’s interested in. Ryan adds that he considers many of the champions as ‘manufactured’.
I believe what Garcia means is that he considers the belt containers as fighters who have been mannered by their smooth promoters to capture the titles. They were created artificially and did not win their belts by beating the best. This makes sense, as many fans consider Shakur Stevenson and Terence Crawford as examples of fighters who did not fight the best to win their titles.
Crawford beat what many fans apparently were a 35-year-old 35-year-old Canelo Alvarez to win his undisputed super-middleweight championship. Terence has never fought before the fight on 168. He is in the position of mananew. Shakur won his WBC lightweight belt against Edwin de Los Santos in a Boo-filled performance in 2023. He did not fight the best man to win his title.
