The New York installment of the Fatal Fury of the Ring contains a star-laden triple head that has a very interesting headlist, as Ryan “King Ry” Garcia (24-1, 20 COs) faces Rolando “Rolly” Romero (16-2, 13 COs).
This welterweight competition keeps two of the most polarizing figures in the boxing sport. The Fatal Fury: City of Wolves event will occur in the historic Midtown, Manhattan Times Square intersection and it will come alive worldwide Dazn ppv.
Ryan Garcia initially entered the battle game linked to an elite group boxers. Garcia, along with Gerrvonta “Tank” Davis, Theofimo “The Takeover” Lopez, and Devin “The Dream” Haney, adopted the Moniker ‘The New Four Kings’.
While his peers have had success in various divisions, Ryan Garcia is the only one of the groups who has not yet won a world title. Garcia’s fanbase is built on its popularity on social media, and some have been considered Garcia as a more influencer for a while as opposed to a title claim.
Garcia tried to change the narrative in April 2023 as he stepped into the square circle to face Gervonta “Tank” Davis. Garcia fought a good fight, but unfortunately he stopped in the seventh round when Tank Davis ended up a sharp body shot.
A year later, Ryan Garcia again made an effort to win a signature when he fought Devin Haney. Garcia had the night of his life when he scored three knockouts and won the match by the majority decision.
Unfortunately for Garcia, his victory from the record books was wiped out because he tested positive for the banned substance ostarine. After serving a one -year suspension, Ryan Garcia is back, and he plans to make a statement against a hard opponent.
The charismatic Rolando “Rolly” Romero was formally introduced to the box public in May 2022 when he faced Germarian Davis. In the course of the match, Romero had his moments, but he was stopped in the 6th round.
Romero would bounce back by conquering a world title in a controversial way when he defeated Ishmael Barroso and won the vacant WBA superweight tape. Romero would lose his title a year later when Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz stopped him in the eighth round.
Now Rolly Romero finds himself in front of a long -standing competitor in the Fatal Fury chief event. Romero’s opponent, Ryan Garcia, is a boxer who likes to use an upright attitude. Garcia has a good hand speed, a solid stitch, a good right hand and a deadly left hook.
Rolly Romero is a pressure fighter who consistently throws every punch with bad intentions. Romero’s overall skill set is a little shaky, but Romero is a dangerous opponent because of his exceptional punching force.
If there was something like Kryptonite, it would have to be his opponent’s left hand for Rolly Romero. Romero was beaten in a sparring session when he was hit by a left hand, and Pitbull Cruz hurt Romero in the first round with a counter shot.
Ishmael Barroso scored a 3rd round Knockdown, taking into account the left, and Gervonta Davis stopped Rolando Romero in the 6th round of their battle when he landed an evil counter-left-hand shot.
Romero has a long task ahead of him tonight, because he has to find a way to avoid the most dangerous left hand in boxing. Romero is the underdog, but he is taking the competition tonight as a confident fighter.
“I see an evil knockout. It’s been a long time … I’ve been professional so far, but it’s going to be a knockout, ‘Romero said.
For Ryan Garcia, a win is expected tonight. The purpose for Garcia is to look impressive and then move on to the more tempting options. If he wins tonight, Garcia can continue to follow a very interesting fight against Conor Benn, or a united world title against Jaron “Boots” Ennis.
