The Boston Red Sox missed the 2024 postseason as they finished with a record of 81 wins and 81 losses.
Their .500 record led to third place in the American League East and missing the playoffs for the third year in a row.
As the Red Sox watch their rivals, the New York Yankees, play in the World Series, they prepare for the 2025 season.
The Red Sox are already making changes to their coaching staff as they announced a new assistant hitting coach on Sunday.
Dillon Lawson has been hired as an assistant hitting coach through the 2025 season, according to Red Sox Channel X.

Lawson spent 2,024 seasons in the Red Sox organization as the minor league hitting coordinator.
Before joining the Red Sox, Lawson spent five seasons with the Yankees and two seasons with the Houston Astros in various positions.
Lawson will join the Major League Club’s coaching staff in 2025 as they look to challenge the Yankees in the American League East.
The Red Sox last won the World Series in 2018 when they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1.
Since that World Series title, the Red Sox have only made the postseason once, and they failed to win the American League East.
Lawson will now work with sluggers Jarren Duran, Rafael Devers and company as they look to boost their 2025 offense.
The Red Sox have nine World Series titles in franchise history, and they will try to win their tenth title in 2025 as they go beyond their .500 record.
