The program, the format and what has changed

If you have allocated to the broadcast of the last round of The WynDham Championship On Sunday, you probably noticed how much attention was paid to players nowhere near the leader’s top. That’s because, as the last tour of the regular PGA Tour season, the Wyndham Championship was very followed: He represented the latest opportunity for players to win a place in FedEx Cup’s Play offs, which begin this week.

FedEx St. Jewish is the first tour of the Play off series 2025 FedEx Cup. How does everything work? Here’s all you need to know.

Briefing

Starting in January, for each tournament a PGA Tour Garon player, he wins FedEx Cup based on his completion. The winners of the player championship and the major ones get 750 points; The winners of the signature events receive 700 points; The winners of the full field events receive 500 points (except Zurich Classic, which gives 400 points for each member of the winning team); and the winners of additional events get 300 points. The other players in each area get points in accordance with their conclusion.

At the end of the regular season (WynDham Championship), 70 leading players in List of FedEx Cup points are eligible for the first event of FedEx Cup Play Off, FedEx St. Jude. The difference between no. 70, Matti Schmid, who is in and no. 71, Davis Thompson, who is out? Only 5 points.

Scottie Scheffler is the highest rank player on the list of points that goes to the first Play Off event, with 4,806 points, followed by Rory Mcilroy with 3,444 and Sepp Straka with 2,595. Schmid, mentioned above at no. 70, there are 620 points.

70 players in the field of FedEx St. Judea can build on their current Total FedEx Cup Point for the next two weeks, with fourfold points for grabs – it’s 2,000 points for the winner. So there are many opportunities for increased progress if you play well.

At the end of FedEx St. Jude, the top 50 players will move to the BMW championship, where they will again build on their point of FedEx Cup season with another chance to win fourfold points. At the end of the BMW championship, the 30 best players will move to the season final, the tour championship, where the points are no longer important and they will compete in an equal field for the FedEx Cup title.

2025 PLAY OFF OF FEDEX CUP

Three events in Play off will be played in successive weeks:

FedEx St. Jewish -7-10 August
BMW championship -14-17 August
Championship -21-24 August

What has changed this year?

This year, instead of players being given “Start Strokes” in the Tour Championship based on the ranking of their FedEx Cup points in the BMW championship, the players will compete in an equal field from the beginning. They can win or maintain their stay in the top 30 places with the possibility of four times the bid in the next two weeks. But once you are inside, you are inside, and you have as much chance of winning like anyone else.

To get to know the season’s performance better, the FedEx Cup 100m bonus bag is also changing. Will be distributed to three events: at the end of the WynDham championship (payments made to the top 10 players in the ranking of FedEx Cup points); At the end of the BMW championship (payments made in the first 30 places in the points ranking); and at the end of the Tour Championship (payments made in Top 30 in the points ranking). Spoiler Alert: Scottie Scheffler already took home the highest bonus of $ 10m from the regular season ranking after Wyndham.

The Tour champion will offer a $ 40 million bag with $ 10 million that goes to the winner.

What about players who did not do play -off?

For those players who ended up off the top 70s and those who end up outside the Top 50 after this week-weeks offer a brief opportunity to reset before the start of FedEx Cup Fall: a seven tour series that begins in September and will end the next 100 in the standings.

All points earned through FedEx St. Jude will continue in the fall. At the end of the autumn series (RSM Classic in November is the latest tour), no. 51-60 in the FedEx Cup ranking will qualify for the first two signature events after sending in 2026, through the next 10th Aon. The 125 key players will win the PGA Tour, and NOS cards. 125-150 will acquire conditional status.

How about everyone else? There is always THE SCHOOLwhere five tour cards are ready for Grabs for the 2026 season.
