The PCB declared Babar Azam “the best batsman of his generation” amid strong reactions to his ouster


The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has broken its silence on the suspension of the superstar batsman. Babar Azam From the test squad for the last two matches of the three games series Against England National Cricket Team.

Cricket fans and pundits were completely shocked when the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the squad for the second and third Tests against England as four star players were dropped from the squad.

Later, in an official media release, an unnamed PCB spokesperson reiterated that Babar had been rested and even labeled him as the “best batsman of his generation” in a damage control measure.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that four top players, including former captain Babar Azam, have been bailed out of the squad to give them rest so they can make a comeback,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

“Babar Azam is the best batsman of his generation and PCB wants to have a mentally refreshed Babar to represent the Pakistan side in the future,” he said.

Pakistan Squad Selection for England Tests Was Tough

The PCB spokesperson also said that “selecting the squad for the upcoming Tests against England was a difficult task for the selectors.” Also, the selection committee carefully considered the form of the players while selecting the squad for the second and third Tests.

Meanwhile, Haseebullah, Mehran Mumtaz, Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali have replaced Babar, Sahin, Nasim and Sarfaraz in the squad. Another key name was missing from the squad Abrar Ahmedwho is down with dang. He was replaced by Sajid Khan and returned to the Noman Ali side along with Zahid Mahmud.
