The most important part of the Scheffler Scottie PGA victory came long before the victory

Charlotte, NC – Scottie Scheffler sat on the podium on Sunday in Hollow Quail Clubleaning to the shine that radiates The Wanamaker trophy that he had just won Throwing the field in the PGA 2025 championship.
Scheffler has levitted over everyone else In the world of professional elite men’s golf since his fruitful run of 2024, he began winning at Arnold Palmer Invitational, players and masters. A strange ravioli accident combined with the hot start of Rory Mcilroy to Hot Scheffler, which has been the number 1 world for 117 weeks in a row, seemingly in the background.
But Scheffler of Scheffler in Quail Hollow It was a pronounced reminder that men’s professional golf is his kingdom and everyone else is trying to play capture. Scheffler started the PGA Championship fighting its pace. Despite having less than his best, Scheffler posted results in the first two rounds to put himself in quarrel. Then, on Saturday, he Put the tournament in a chocohehold With a five -hole running that saw him enter the last round with a three -shot lead to Alex Nora and a five -stroke lead over the next closest sample, Ion Rahm.
Tour Confidial: Win PGA of Scottie Scheffler, following Tiger and Jack
With his name at the head of the leader, Scheffler pressured Chassers to play perfect golf if they would like to have a chance to catch it. Even if Scheffler did not play the perfect Golf on Sunday (he not), Chassers will have to push it and empty the tank even to have a chance. He is, after all, Scottie Scheffler.
Bryson Dechambeau, who began the last round of six strokes back Scheffler, felt it. He knew who was at the top of the manager’s table and realized what it would take to have a chance to follow Scheffler down.
With Quail Hollow’s first eight holes chewing from the early wave, chassers had to go down to a hot start, post birds and make Scheffler aware of their presence.
Dechambeau lost green in 1 and shook his head when his bird chip turned short. Its bird points in no. 2 and no. 3 drew irritated reactions. Hands over the head, a gesture with a break that was not, a long extraction. When his bunker shooting in par-3 4 did not break as expected, Dechambeau hit his leg and called his cadet to frustration.
There is great pressure of the championship, and there is great championship pressure when Scheffler is at the top.
When Dechambeau’s Birdie moved to number 8, he shakes his arm again on a wrong break and left in tee knowing that he will lose his chance to put pressure on the best player in the world.
“There were times when I felt like I was oppressed,” Dechambeau said after a T2-Finish in Quail Hollow. “Green Mile made it to me yesterday and the kind made me again for me today, and that’s golf, man. I have to be more accurate and fix what I can fix to make myself more stable and get up there, the likes of what Scottie is doing now.”
Rahm came out a little later than Dechambeau and withdrew from seven pars to begin, but made birds at 8, 10 and 11. When Scheffler was prevented in nine forward due to a range of leftists, Rahm suddenly found himself connected to the lead. But knowing what holes Scheffler still had before him, Rahm was aware that the capture of the world no. 1 was just the first step in an impossible comeback. He is likely to need three other birds to give himself a realistic chance on a play off. Scottie Scheffler will not give you anything.
With Rahm in the 12th hole, Scheffler poured into a bird at no. 10 to recover the lead.
When the ball hit the bottom of the cup, a message passed the Rahm course.
“You know which position you are because, even if you don’t want to look at the leaders’ tables, the crowd allows you to know,” Rahm said. “They are so excited, it doesn’t matter, they will tell you. Even when you don’t know exactly what’s going on in a hole, if you hear a joy, you know what’s going on. As in the 12 Green when I hit my blow, at the same time I heard a cheers from 10; I was fully aware that it was a scottie bird.”
When Rahm was unable to take advantage of the 14th short par-4 or par-5 15, he knew his chances of overcoming Scheffler were near broken.
“If there is ever a time when he felt like he was slipping to some extent, it was not the 14th and 15th birds; this was definitely the mistake,” Rahm said.
Rahm Bogey 16 and then doubled his way home as he tried to go to break to catch Scheffler.
When Rahm’s party lost 16, Scheffler was beyond the lake, walking on his ball on the 15th road. A few minutes later, Scheffler made Birdie extend the lead to four, and all that remained was a green mile and celebration.
While Scheffler was leaving for his last round crash in Quail Holow, his close friend Sam Burns was coming to the final touches in his PGA championship.
Burns has played a lot of golf with Scheffler. While he was not in Chase Mode Sunday in Quail Hollow, he realized what Rahm, Dechambeau and others felt as they tried to track Scheffler down.
“I’ve played a lot of golf with her, and it seems that every blow has a force size and just finds its way up there,” Burns said.
Even before taking the lead on Saturday, Scheffler’s presence in the manager’s table made the result feel inevitable. As the contenders came out of the course on Saturday, everyone talked about how they had given themselves a chance to win Sunday. After them, Scheffler Torched Quail Hollow’s Green Mile to make their statements, crush their aspirations 24 hours before the tournament ended and set up a walk in a third major career for himself.
“Force size”.
Scheffler made everyone in Quail Hollow feel it.
