Yani Tseng has returned to Open Womens Open this week.
USGA, Claire Rogers
Hello, friends, and welcome to Wednesday at US Women Open! Despite a very rainy day here in Erin Hillshas one LOT of the good things that happen on the eve of the first round of the tournament. My associates and I arrived the first thing in the morning to walk some holes before rolling bad weather, and found my favorite place in the course thanks to my associate and pair, Sean Zak. We went to the highest point in the course, where you can see almost every single hole in the property.
If you are looking for me this weekend, here I will be. Also, if this video of the Sean does not tell you how much rolling is this place, nothing will.
My favorite holes in Erin Hills (so far!)
When I’m actually playing golf, there is nothing that I want more than to reach a Par-3 short. Perhaps my appreciation for a backyard-to-15th yard hole comes from my new golf days, where the only chance I had to reach a green in the regulation came to those holes. My dad also lives immediately near a par-3 with 136-yard, so I see players of all skills playing it all day whenever I’m home. Be that as it may, nothing attracts my interest in a professional golf tour as a very short hole, which is exactly what is No. 9 in Erin Hills.
When asked what is the most challenging hole in the course this week, amateurs (and teenagers!) Asterisk Talley and Jude Lee agreed that it is no.9. It green and the bunkers around are no jokes, especially when the wind is blowing. I am very willing to watch the best players in the world receiving this hole over the next four days. After all, they don’t call it the shortest par-5 in Wisconsin for nothing.
The best commodity in the country
Calling for my associate Zephyr Melton to discover probably the most casual and fun part of Erin Hills this week: a long-sleeved T-shirt with Bigfoot on it.
The best part about this clothing article is the fact that there is no literal backstage for it.
I am used to people approaching me with demand for goods from masters, but I did not expect a small portion of friends and family members to send me messages looking for this completely casual shirt. Even my sister, who never wants anything from the tournaments where I attend, called me the second she saw this post and asked me to buy one for her. Who would think that a big look at the Wisconsin tent in Wisconsin would help increase the game?
Best moments of the press conference
Of course the show is always the best part of the main championships, but the press conferences are a close second. It is interesting to hear what players on the field to say in front of the tournament, and this week was no exception. Let’s start things with Yani Tseng, who gave the best oppressor of the week so far (in my humble opinion).
“I feel very grateful to come back … I’m just very happy I didn’t give up.”
Yani Tseng returns to the US women’s Open presented by Ally for the first time since 2016.

At the age of 36, Tseng is returning to this major for the first time in nine years and it is safe to say that it is focused on enjoying its experience this week.
“I don’t feel any reception. I feel very happy this week. After getting here, I told my parents,” Mom, feels good, feel so good. I have a kid. Didn’t win the one before, but I’ve won a tour before, I never think – I know everyone wants to win this week, but I really just want to be here and enjoy every moment I can. “
On the other side of the spectrum, we have 16-year-old Asterisk Talley and 17-year-old Jude Lee, removing it this week, and they were asked what it was like to go to a high school class on the largest Golf scene.
Talleay: “Yes, it is very hard just to sit in a class until you have to leave for the open US. But it’s very boring a week ago, and then you are a type of waiting just until the flight comes and you’ll come to play this course. I just think you are trying to buy it before that and you are not trying to think too much – you are just – you are just that you are just – you are routine. ”
Lee: “It was just super annoying to me. That’s actually my final week, so I just got all my finals ahead of time and did all my AP tests. I really don’t have time to think about the future. It helped me stay in the present.”
To go from how, the biology class to remove it in the US Open is the basis for a Disney Channel film. It is practically unheard of! I know Lee and Talley are much colder than I will ever be because I wouldn’t have been able to sit still at school a week before attending a big championship – never mind playing in one. The only cooler thing than being in high school week before lifting it in a major should be in high school week subsequently a major. I would be sitting in the lunch room supporting my entire experience for anyone who wants to hear.
Okay people, that’s all I have for today. I will return tomorrow with the best things from Round 1 here in Erin Hills.
