In 2024, the New York Mets’ surprising postseason run ended when they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.
After sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies as underdogs, the Mets made their first World Series appearance since 2015.
As the offseason begins, the Mets announced that one of their starting pitchers recently underwent multiple surgeries.
“Tyrone Taylor underwent umbilical hernia repair with Dr. Venkata Evani in Phoenix, AZ. He also underwent right elbow replacement yesterday with Dr. James Carr. The average return to game schedule for these procedures is approximately two months.” wrote Mets in X.

Taylor entered the league in 2019 with the Brewers and was in his first season with the Mets.
He played 130 games in the regular season where he hit .248 with seven home runs, 35 RBI and a .701 OPS.
Taylor has played in all 13 games this postseason and is hitting .162 with six hits, six runs scored, one RBI and a .512 OPS.
It appears that Taylor should be ready for spring training if he recovers on the average return-to-game schedule for this procedure.
The Mets made the postseason for just the second time in the past eight seasons, but managed to win two series against teams expected to beat them.
With only two World Series titles in franchise history (1969, 1986), the Mets will look to make some moves this offseason to try and win another title in 2025.
