The Seattle Mariners missed the postseason for the second straight time in 2024, finishing with an 85-77 record.
Although the Mariners had four straight winning seasons, they made the playoffs once in those seasons, which resulted in them being swept in the American League division series.
To make matters worse, it was the Mariners’ only postseason trip in the past 23 seasons.
Seattle entered this offseason looking to make some moves, and MLB analyst John Morosi recently revealed that they are interested in Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm.
“The Mariners, yes, are one of the teams that have talked to the Phillies about him,” Morosi said via MLB Network.

Bohm made his MLB debut with the Phillies in 2020 and has played all five years of his career with them.
Morosi notes that the Phillies are looking to shake up their lineup next season, and Bohm is one of their everyday players they are willing to move.
Bohm played 143 games for the Phillies in 2024 and hit .280 with 15 home runs, 97 RBI and a .779 OPS.
Morosi also notes that a trade might be a better idea than free agency for the Mariners, as their bullpen might be one of the more difficult places to hit.
The Mariners are still chasing the first World Series title in franchise history since their inaugural season in 1977.
With their last American League West title coming back in 2001, the Mariners have some work to do this offseason if they want to contend for a championship.
