On April 27, runners will complete their 26.2-mile journey near downtown for the 2025 Adidas-sponsored race.
Using the stunning majesty of Manchester University as a backdrop, 36,000 people will now reach the culmination of their challenge on Sunday 27th April next year at the iconic Oxford Road in what will be the biggest edition of the race ever.
The University of Manchester is known as a center for innovation and progress, making it the perfect fit for the ever-evolving event and to host participants and spectators in spectacular settings such as the Whitworth Building and the Old Quadrangle.
The kick-off will remain unchanged at Manchester United FC at Trafford and includes supporter-laden sections via Sale and Altrincham. The 2025 race will be the most popular version, taking place at the same time as the London Marathon, ensuring it will be the biggest day of marathon running in UK history.
Andrew Smith, CEO of adidas Manchester Marathon, said: “We’ve been planning this one for a long time, so it’s a great pleasure to confirm a truly elite-level finish to our event. We have listened to the feedback of our participants and the local community because they are at the heart of everything we do. This switch combines what already makes the adidas Manchester Marathon so special, with the same epic start under the Trafford Arch, but with significant improvements to the post-finish experience for our heroes and their supporters.”
More information about the new finish line and the 2025 course is available on the official website adidas Manchester Marathon website.
