Man United duo Casemiro and Marcus Rashford have taken to social media to express their delight after their first training session under new manager Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese manager replaced Erik ten Hag in charge of Man United at the start of the current international break after serving a short notice before leaving Sporting CP.
The 39-year-old replaced Ten Hag after the Dutch manager experienced an underwhelming start to the 2024/25 campaign, leaving the Manchester club in the bottom half of the Premier League and winless in the Europa League.
Amorim arrives at Man United as one of the most highly rated young managers in Europe after delivering two league titles at Sporting CP, although he will not have as much a lot of money to spend like his predecessor in the upcoming transfer windows.
The Portuguese manager is known to work with a 3-4-3 formation and the early phase of his time in Manchester will likely revolve around adapting this set-up to the Red Devils’ current squad. Amorim oversaw his first training session with the Premier League club this week and left an impression on a number of stars.
Leading to X, Casemiro praised the training session saying: “Top training”; while Marcus Rashford posted on his Instagram story a photo of him with the caption “Top session today”.
Out of template, Man United legend Rio Ferdinand also reacted to the footage of the Amorim session.

Have the Man United duo highlighted Erik ten Hag’s major weakness?
One of the main things that Erik ten Hag was criticized for at Man United was his failure to give his team an identity, while the lack of patterns of play was also evident in almost every game.
This is a manager issue and based on the reaction of Casemiro and Rashford to Amorim’s first session, it appears that the Dutch manager’s stay at Old Trafford was short of attractive training weeks.
That would go a long way in explaining why the former Ajax manager failed in Manchester and fans of the club are now expecting big changes as the Amorim era kicks off this weekend as the Red Devils travel to Ipswich Town.
