The Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker he suffered a serious hamstring injury in the Reds’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend and the Merseyside club are still awaiting the results of his scan.
The Brazilian went down in the second half of the clash at Selhurst Park after taking a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The pain on the 32-year-old’s face was visible and fans knew the problem was serious as the goalkeeper hit the ground in frustration. The Brazilian underwent a scan on his hamstring injury over the weekend and according to the Paul Gorst of the Liverpool Echothe Merseyside club are still awaiting the results before putting a timetable on his recovery.
Alisson is expected to be sidelined for a long time, handing over to Caoimhin Kelleher, who has been brilliant between the sticks whenever called upon.
The Irishman will be given the chance to impress more clubs ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window as the 25-year-old is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the current season after signing by the Valencian Giorgi Mashvili.
Could Giorgi Mamardashvili join Liverpool soon to replace Alisson?
All signings have reported that Mamardashvili could be taken to Liverpool ahead of schedule after signing the Georgia international from Valencia in the summer before the goalkeeper returned to La Liga on loan until the end of the season.
This is highly unlikely as Alisson is not expected to leave until the end of the season and Valencia are currently in a relegation battle and will not want to lose any of their weapons.
Arne Slot will hand over the role to Kelleher until Alisson returns and the Brazilian’s constant injuries are something the goalkeeper needs to work on.
