The Liverpool defender is ‘closing in’ on a new contract


Liverpool centre-back Jarell Quansah will sign a new contract at Anfield as reward for his impact on the senior team.

The 21-year-old’s current deal, which runs until 2027, was signed in May 2023, ahead of his senior debut and emergence as a key part of the first-team squad under the former manager Jurgen Klopp.

Manager Arne Slot has repeatedly brushed off questions about Van Dijk’s future, insisting the constant speculation was getting “boring” as he was once again forced to answer questions about contract talks with the skipper, as well as with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah. .
