At LIV Golf Dallas in June, Jon Rahm experienced an opening first: the event at Spouse GC marked the first time Rahm finished outside the top 10 in two seasons. His three-round, three-under total was good enough for … T11. To date, it remains Rahm’s worst finish in 25 LIV events.
The 31-year-old was rewarded for his consistency by winning his second straight individual title of the season, despite not winning an LIV event in 2025. Meanwhile, Joaquin Niemann pulled off a remarkable victory. five tour titles in 2025 and ended up finishing second in the individual standings.

“I lost in two playoffs, after all,” he said. “It’s tough ’cause I’ve been playing well. I’d say winning the individual doesn’t carry the same weight as last year without winning, especially when Joaquin won five times. You could make an argument there that maybe he was more deserving, right? I’m not responsible for the points system.”
“Are they changing it?” Knost asked.
“I hope so,” Rahm replied. “Listen, I know I’m consistent and all, but when someone wins more than a third of the tournaments — it’s not like we’re playing 40, right? We’re playing 13 events. If he wins more than a third of them, he should probably get away with it, even if I finish second every week, which I didn’t, right?
“I know he had a bad couple of weeks,” Rahm continued. “But the only sport you could match would be Formula 1, where someone wins a third of the races but finishes out of the points, and still most of the time will win them all. So, yes, it’s a bit of a mixed bag in that sense, but I think they’re changing it.”
While Rahm finished T11 or better in all 13 LIV Golf events in 2025, including four runner-up finishes, Niemann posted five wins — but also had five finishes of T20 or worse. At the end of the season, Rahm passed Niemann in the individual standings by less than three points. To put that into perspective, third-place finisher Bryson DeChambeau undercut Niemann’s total by nearly 80 points. DeChambeau’s season included a win, a runner-up finish and four other top-10 finishes.
