Fernando Alonso is not just a world champion of formula one twice, but also a supporter of Real Madrid for a lifetime.

Smiling, Alonso gave a playful and strategic response: “I would sign Pedri in Madrid, to weaken Barça. I do so in the PlayStation … and then I would leave it on the bench.”
The comment, delivered with a smile on his cheek, trapped many prominent. With Barcelona that had just put Madrid in the League, the King’s Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup this season, some could wait for Alonso to choose stars such as Lamine Yamal or Raphinha, who combined an impressive 102 input from goal in 2025/26.
But Pedri, who returned quietly to his best year, was essential in the rule of the Mig -Field of Barça, dictating the pace and control of matches so that he evoked legends like Xavi and Iniesta. Although it may not be the most flash name on the team sheet, Pedri is definitely one of the most vital.
So, although Alonso’s response may have begun as a joke, reflects a deeper truth: hurting Barcelona, you get the heartbeat.
