If you think Philadelphia’s fans were eager for professional golf to return to their city, you were right.
Fans who appeared in Philadelphia Cricket Club Sunday for the last round of TrumpetThe first PGA Tour visit to the area in three years and only the second since 2018, revealed that something was missing: the tent of goods was traditionally locked in the second day of the event.
The word had spread around Philly Cricket, itself waiting for its first PGA Tour eventOn Saturday, that the PGA Tour fan shop in the country had been fully ran from the hats.
Then, in an email “know before you go” sent to late Sunday ticket holders on Saturday night, a notice was put to the end announcing that the fan store had experienced “a sale ever seen by inventory” and would close for the last round.
A PGA Tour official confirmed about the closure of Golf The Fan Shop, adding that a full inventory sale at an event is “rare”.
“The enthusiasm from the fans was evident not only in the crowds sold, but also in the demand for tours, with the PGA Tour fans shop experiencing record sales all week and selling almost every article-a clear reflection of the Philadelphia community,” said the executive director of the Truist champion, Joie Chitwood.
However, the tournament is not leaving fans on the course on the high and dry Sunday when it comes to grab some memorial rolls.
Chitwood added that fans with Sunday tickets would be emailed with an entry code next week for 10 percent of the Truist championship equipment in Pgatourfanshop.com. As for this article, there were only 28 articles in the Truist Championship collection on Sit, much with the “almost past” label.
Just another example of how hunger is the Philadelphia area for the championship golf. The area has not had a regular PGA Tour event since 1980, although the best of the game will return to the area in 2026 for the PGA Championship at the Golf Club and 2030 for US Open in Merion.
The players ran about the host this week, an AW Tillinghast design of 1922, Despite playing only about 7,100 yardsand have begun for the tournament to play more classic northeastern gems.
Currently, the only regular PGA Tour stop in the northeast of the United States is the Connecticut Travele Championship.
“We were talking about this, within 100 to 150 miles of this country, I think there are some of the best golf in the world,” Tony Finau said on Saturday. “I would like to see the tournament make a lot more stops here. That is definitely a good one.”
