KTM’s uncertain MotoGP future also filters down to the lower classes. Maybe the company will have to get out of motorsport entirely to survive.
In the premier class this would probably result in the factory team leaving, except perhaps under a different name. Lewis Hamilton could be interested in KTM grid positions. It can be sold to another manufacturer.
Satellite team Tech3 has had to find another home, but a huge number of teams and riders will have an impact in Moto3. KTM And Honda will provide bikes for all participants in the lightweight division.

Talking to the Italian outlet Engine footprintStep Up boss Alessandro Tonucci shares his thoughts on KTM’s future. Key talks were held during the winter.
KTM have confirmed to the Moto3 team that they have ‘no problem’ in motorsport
Tonucci ‘spoke directly’ to Jens Heinbach, Vice President of Sport Management and Road Racing. The motorsport sector has been assured that it will not be disrupted.
In fact, KTM’s financial woes concern the company as a whole rather than its competitors. But the fear is that the latter will inevitably suffer.
Tonucci says he can only speak for his team, but KTM seems to be calling for calm internally. External distractions can affect the results, and therefore make the group less attractive to the most demanding investors.
When told that he seems to be ‘composed’, Tonucci replied: “Yes, because I spoke directly with KTM’s Jens Heinbach. The manager explained that there is no problem in the Motosport sector.” I’m obviously talking about Level Up-MTA, so we can move forward smoothly.
“If so, yes: since the end of last season, there have been a few technicians in the pits of the teams representing the team’s brands. This is the case with everyone, including us.
Can F1 manufacturer KTM cancel contract with Lewis Hamilton now?
Lewis Hamilton will not be the savior of KTM Because he doesn’t have the required resources, certainly on his own. The group is looking for a large-scale investor or consortium.
One of these options can be Mercedes. CEO Stéphane Pierre has a close relationship with the company, attending their meetings for the past two years.
In theory, Mercedes KTM is a candidate for rescue.. Any buyer would have to take on an enormous amount of debt.
While the focus is on the cavalry, the wider workforce faces a more serious threat. KTM has not been able to pay the November salary until this monthA sign of how serious things are.
