The New York Yankees fell short of their 28th World Series championship in franchise history.
As the offseason approaches, the Yankees face another battle as they try to bring back superstar free agent Juan Soto.
Soto’s status has gripped the baseball world lately, and there have been many rumors about how much he might sign and who would be the best hitter for him.
Former Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila recently revealed who he thinks is the best fit to sign Soto.
“I believe the Yankees have the best shot. I believe it’s great for Soto,” Avila said via SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.
Juan Soto’s sweepstakes could reportedly end this week.
Will he return to the Bronx or join a new team in 2025?

Soto proved to be a good fit for the Yankees in 2024 as they won the American League East and made the postseason in his first season with the team.
The top free agent in this year’s class has attracted the attention of many big-market teams, including the Yankees, New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Soto put up some big numbers in his first season in New York as he batted .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBI and a .989 OPS.
The Yankees would love nothing more than to bring Soto back, but it could come down to which team offers him the most money.
Although the Yankees have plenty of money to offer, Mets owner Steve Cohen has that ability, too.
