The Toronto Blue Jays suffered their first losing season in four seasons after finishing 74-88 and in last place in the American League East.
After winning back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993, the Blue Jays made only five postseason appearances, three of which ended in wild-card appearances.
The Blue Jays finished fifth in the AL East for the first time since 2013, and they will likely need to make some moves this offseason if they want to win the division title in 2025.
While the Blue Jays haven’t made many notable moves this offseason, they have been identified as a finalist for Rocky Sasaki’s starting lineup.
Former GM Jim Duquette gave his thoughts on the Blue Jays being Sasaki’s final round.
“No way I would have guessed Toronto,” Duquette said via Foul Territory on “X.”

While Duquette was surprised that the Blue Jays were named a finalist for Sasaki, he notes that he can market himself across the country of Canada.
With the Blue Jays being the only Canadian team in the MLB, Sasaki could have the potential to earn a lot of money through endorsements.
Duquette also says that Toronto is a good city and a nice place to play, but still, the fact that they made it to the finals shocked him.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are likely to be Sasaki’s landing spots, but the Blue Jays will do their best to bring him to Canada.
