Nottingham Forest have reportedly made Wolves striker Matheus Cunha their top priority for the January transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad and push for a top-four finish.
The City Ground club are eager to sign a new striker before the transfer deadlinewith the Daily Mail revealing that Cunha is identified as his main target. However, the 25-year-old Brazil international does attracted interest from several Premier League giants.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are among the clubs linked with the striker. But despite tough competition, Forest remain determined to pursue Cunha, who has scored 10 goals this season.
In their search for a striker, Forest recently tabled a £22m bid for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, which was rejected. Now, their attention has shifted firmly to Cunha, despite the challenges of competing against England’s top clubs for his signature.

Arsenal have touched base with representatives of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha over a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.
It’s no secret that the Gunners need a striker as they look to try and wrest the lead from Premier League leaders Liverpool.
FootballTransfers reported that Cunha is a January option that is being seriously considered. The outlet claims that the Brazilian’s current contract clash with his current team and this has encouraged Arsenal to rekindle their interest.
On Monday, Cunha was criticized by Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira for showing “bad body language” in the 3-1 defeat against Chelsea. “It’s human for players to start being a bit … it’s normal in football.”
“I had that conversation in the dressing room. You can get frustrated because you want to win, but everyone in the team wants to win.
“I don’t like this body language. I want someone as a captain to try to help the team: running, suffering, fighting together. That’s something I can understand. Next time, I won’t understand. That’s something I don’t it can happen again.”
