Is the Ryder list of Ryder Cup in the US half full, or half empty?
It depends on which side of the bubble you are sitting.
On Sunday evening, the US Ryder Cup team closed the first six points of its list, giving it a selection for each of the six automatic qualifiers selected based on their total points from the last two years. So who made the team? And who is still fighting for a place? We break all down.
Who is on the US Ryder Cup team (6 players)
1. Scottie Scheffler
It should not be surprised to learn the golf player who won half of this year’s top championships won first place in the US squad. Truth be said, Scheffler solidarized his Ryder Cup point weeks ago, and when the collection of points was full, he would almost 4x’d the rest of his counterparts in the US at total points.
There is not much to say about world No.1 that has not already been said: he is so far the best player in the world, riding in a wave of the dominant game that only seems to be winning steam. He will enter Bethpage as the most critical player on the US team – and is not particularly close.
2. JJ SPAUN
It would be easy to write spaun involvement in Ryder Cup team as a product of His win at US Open in Junewhere he captured his first major championship title. But the truth is that Spaun’s brilliant game started long before that victory in June – he got Rory Mcilroy at a player championship player in March – and continued well after it (he got Justin Rose at a Play off in FedEx St. Just last week).
Spaun has been one of the three or four of the best living players alive in 2025, simple and simple, and he won this place in the team on the difficult road. Now the big question: If his pressure show translates into accordance with the game?
3. Xander Schauffle
Xander is probably not spending much time celebrating his place in the US Ryder Cup at the BMW Championship on Sunday. A PGA Tour’s disappointing season ended for Sunday afternoon in Baltimore, with Schauffle who failed to end enough to win a place in the tournament for the first time in his pro career.
Schauffle 2025 season spread from the gate after one indental Grabed his first two months, but his game has been rounded in shape by late. It is expected to be one of the heavy US weights after the balls get into the air in the Farmingdale, repeating the team golf shows that have turned it into one of the most vital players of the US side.

4. Russell Henley
Scheffler’s partner for most of the 2024 presidents’ Cup and one of the most underestimated players in Golf American, Russell Henley scored his ticket to his first Ryder Cup on BMW in the same way as he does more in the Golf course: Lowkey.
Henley has been one of the world’s best ball strikers over the past 24 months, and his performance along with Scheffler in Montreal last September should provide an encouragement that he can play any role required by the Ryder Cup Cup leadership.
5. Bryson dechambeau
Surely the most famous vibrant golf player, Dechambeau brought fifth place of vehicle qualification in the US team just a month after calling for a “Tsunami” of the noise to join him in Bethpage in the fall.
Bryson was great in his latest performance at Ryder Cup in 2021, and has reason to think he could be even better to come this year’s journey. His game has been in the most consistency ever over the last 18 months, and he managed to qualify for an automatic offer despite not winning points while playing in Liv.
Dechambeau has said his goal is to do it in Napa, where a bunch of American players is expected to remove him at the PGA Tour fall season in an attempt to stay sharp before the great dance. It is unlikely that PGA Tour will force. Oh well, it leaves a lot of time to YouTubing by Long Island.
6. Harris English
Another underestimated player who has had a strong season, English won the sixth and last vehicle on the US side. He will compete in his second Ryder cup in Bethpage, looking to build a 1-2-0 show in the 2021 Ryder Cup on Whistling Straits.
Who is out
US Cup Ryder Keegan Bradley will make six “selection of captain” to close this year’s list – wild cards that can be taken from anywhere in the points rankings. The two closest losses between the vehicle qualification figure to be strong candidates for the team, as Justin Thomas AND Collin Morikawa Bring the origin of Ryder Cup and World No.1 with head. Out of them two, Ben griffin made a strong push to consider in his best full season as a professional. He currently sits on the ninth on the US list list.
Further below the ranking is none other than the captain himself, KEEGAN BRADLEY, which remains strongly for a country, despite not qualifying automatically. Then, further below the list, the good ones like Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup, Cameron Young, Maverick Mcnealy, Sam Burns and Andrew Novak Represent six boys who are likely to compete for three points on the US side.
There will be some difficult Bradley decisions as it is linked to rounding the Bethpage list, but the work of a captain around the tournament is never easy. If, of course, you are one of six that already qualified. Now it’s time to sit nicely … and maybe fit for a gala tux.
