The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the New York Yankees two games to zero in the World Series.

After beating the Yankees 4-2 on Saturday, the Dodgers have a two-game lead going into Game 3 as the series shifts to New York.

The offensive star power on the Dodgers roster is undeniable, and it looks like they’ll be looking to add another slugger for 2025.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Dodgers will make a play to sign Juan Soto this offseason as he becomes a free agent.

“The Dodgers are halfway to beating the Yankees in the World Series and word is they are interested in signing Yankees superstar Juan Soto, according to people familiar with their thinking,” Heyman. wrote.

Soto’s free agency will likely be the biggest story since the World Series ended when he entered free agency.

The Yankees are likely to try to sign Soto to a multi-year deal, but now the Dodgers, another big team in the market, appear to be planning to pursue Soto as well.

Soto had a great year for the Yankees as he hit .288 with 41 home runs, 109 runs batted in and a .989 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Shohei Ohtani’s odd contract appears to allow the Dodgers to pursue Soto and offer the kind of money he’ll likely be looking for.

Ohtani signed a 10-year contract with the Dodgers worth $700 million, but $680 million of that is deferred until 2034.

Ohtani will earn just $2 million per year for 10 baseball seasons and then $68 million per year over 10 years starting after the 2034 season.

The Dodgers could potentially be a powerhouse next season if they want to land Soto this offseason, and that will undoubtedly be the biggest story to watch post-World Series.
