The Dodgers have some big news about Shohei Ohtani

Dodgers fans have had no complaints about $700 million man Shohei Ohtani this season after becoming the fastest player to reach 40 homers and 40 steals in a season as he continues to run away with NL MVP from the award.

He’s been so good at the plate that he’s almost made fans forget what a weapon he is on the mound as well, and the Dodgers have seen a huge positive development in that regard recently.

MLB shared video of Ohtani taking the mound last night for the first time since elbow surgery in September 2023.

It’s been easy to forget about his recovery since he’s been playing well this season, but it’s a great sign that everything is going according to plan and that the two-way star will be ready to take the mound again right away. 2025 season.

Ohtani reportedly threw 10 pitches in the bullpen before the team’s 9-8 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday afternoon, and it’s unclear when he will play another season as he continues to rehab.

Ohtani underwent internal brace surgery on his UCL instead of the more extreme full Tommy John surgery.

It’s nice for Dodgers fans to see some positive news from their pitching staff considering all the broken elbows and shoulders the team has had to endure lately, with rookie River Ryan recently on the injured list with Tommy John surgery and joining fellow injured starters Tony Gonsolini. Dustin May, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Emmitt Sheehan and Tyler Glasnow.
