Real Madrid have seen off an attempt to sign Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of the January transfer window as the Reds have no plans to part with the right-back during the 2024/25 campaign.

The full-back has been in great form during the first half of the current term, which continued on Sunday when the England international found the back of the net in the 5-0 win over West Ham.

The defender’s displays come with a cloud over them as Liverpool fans do not know if the player will stay at Anfield beyond the current season. Alexander-Arnold is out of contract with the Merseyside outfit in 2025 and there is no sign of a new deal.

this attracted Real Madrid to the Alexander-Arnold situation with the League champions linked to the 26-year-old for months.

Top reporter says Liverpool have Trent Alexander-Arnold’s replacement in mind

The Spanish giants see the Liverpool star as their right-back of the future as they search for the right player to replace Dani Carvajal, who is currently sidelined with a long-term knee injury.

David Ornstein recently stated that there is a feeling within the industry that Alexander-Arnold will end up leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid in the summer, and there could be more to this story as the Champions League winners have made an approach to the winger.

according to Andy Hunter of The GuardianLiverpool have rejected an approach from Real Madrid to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in the January window.

Transfer discussions didn’t even get to the transfer fee as the League club were told he wasn’t a starter. The reporter claims the Merseyside club have had no indication the defender wants to leave after months of talks over a new contract.

Alexander-Arnold is currently fully focused on winning the Premier League with Liverpool, however, with all signs pointing to the defender ending his time at Anfield at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
