The Chicago Cubs missed the postseason for the fourth straight time, finishing with an 83-79 record, good enough for second place in the National League Central.
Since winning the World Series in 2016, the Cubs have advanced out of the wild-card round just once.
The Cubs entered the offseason with the goal of adding talent to their roster so they could compete for a division title in 2025.
The Cubs are off to a good start this offseason with the addition of Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros, and they have their eye on another free agent.
The Cubs are among the teams showing interest in Seattle Mariners infielder Josh Rojas, according to MLB insider Mark Feinsand of “X.”
The Cubs are among the teams showing serious interest in INF Josh Rojas. Rojas had a 2.2 bWAR in 142 games with the Mariners last season. He has started mostly at 3B 2B and 3B, but can also play SS and both corners.

Rojas entered the league in 2019 with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he played until going to the Mariners in 2023.
Rojas played in 142 games with the Mariners in 2024, where he batted .225 with eight home runs, 31 RBIs and a .641 OPS.
Feinsand mentions the many positions Rojas can play, including second base, third base, shortstop and both corner positions.
Rojas’ versatility could be a huge asset for the Cubs if they decide to pull the trigger on signing him this offseason.
While his offensive numbers don’t jump off the page, useful defensive skills make Rojas remarkable.
The Cubs are hoping to win their first NL Central title since 2020 and lead the team over the top and back to the postseason.
Rojas will be a name to keep an eye on as the offseason progresses for the Cubs.
