The coach of Moses Itauma predicts the status of 1 pound-by-pound, but critics demand that he prove himself

Coach Ben Davison believes that his fighter, 20-year-old heavyweight Moses Itauma, could become the United Kingdom’s first pound-for-pound.

It would be nice if the promoters of Itauma begin to match you against younger heavyweights with real talent, rather than sticking to the older people ready for the scrap heapas we have seen with Him repeatedly. He has a plastic record, at first glance impressive, but when you look at the opposition, there is nothing.

With the victories on the resume of Moses, he belongs to the bottom of the rankings, not at number 1, with his coach pumping him artificially for pound-by-pound status. His achievements so far are pure superficial.

Well, if the People on the Ring Magazine panel is the same that pushed Terence Crawford to #1 pound-by-pound to a narrow, not spectacular victory over Canelo Alvarez this past weekend, Itauma got an excellent chance to finally grab the number 1 place.

This probably won’t happen until Crawford is retired or beaten unless Itauma does something spectacular. I feel that Bud will stay at that top position and even be in position the next year if he prefers to remain inactive for 13 months, his habit during the past two years.
