The Tampa Bay Rays missed the postseason for the first time in six seasons as they finished with an 80-82 record in 2024.
It was the Rays’ first losing season since 2017, when they also finished 80-82.
After a disappointing end to the season, the team was dealt another blow as Hurricane Milton hit the St. Petersburg, Florida area and damaged their home ballpark, Tropicana Field.
The stadium’s roof was torn off by the storm, and the Rays are set to play their 2025 home games in a nearby spring training facility.
Although the damage to the ballpark was devastating, the Rays recently received some good news regarding their stadium renovations.
“The St. Pete City Council voted 4-3 to spend $23 million to begin replacing the roof at Tropicana Field,” FOX Sports wrote.

Tropicana Field has been the home of the Rays since their inaugural season in 1998.
With renovations expected to take some time, the Rays will play their 2025 home games at the New York Yankees’ spring training facility.
The Rays will be looking to win their first World Series title in franchise history after losing in previous appearances in 2008 and 2020.
It is hoped that Tropicana Field will be ready for the 2026 season.
