The Chelsea star names one thing Enzo Maresca is doing for the title contenders

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo says Enzo Maresca’s approach to preparation has been key to maintaining good form.

Many thought the Blues might need time to settle and establish themselves after opting to replace previous manager Mauricio Pochettino with Maresca, but the Italian has produced immediate results to propel the club into the title race in just 18 months after finishing 12th in the Premier League.

Only two points separate Chelsea from table leaders Liverpool, and the weekend win against Brentford it was the club’s 10th win in 16 outings this season – goals from Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson doing the job.

Chelsea are also cruising through Europe, having already secured their place in the last 16 of the Conference League, and Adarabioyo has revealed that things are going very well with the way Maresca continues to push the players.

“We focus every day in training and we hope that the results will come with it,” he told the club’s official website.

“We take each game as it comes. Coach is pushing us every day to make sure we’re doing the right things and preparing for each game. We have top players. When everyone makes a change, and against Brentford, We’ve had an incredible turn of the ball – always good to see, now our next focus is Shamrock Rovers.”

ChelseaFulham’s players have become increasingly familiar with each other, due to more regular and structured team selection, and the former Fulham centre-back admitted that cohesion and understanding was another key element in the training

“It’s something we’ve been working on,” he said. “It was a great cross from Noni Madueke and great to see Marc Cucurella at the end (against Brentford). He was in a more advanced position and he did a great job.”

The blues have been dealt a blow Mykhailo Mudryk’s crasher failed drug testbut with the Ukrainian a peripheral figure in the Premier League this season, his absence may not be felt too much with the January transfer window also opening soon.
