On Dec. 6, Gary Martin finished third in the 5,000 meters at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener in 13:05.57, a nearly 8-second PB. What a great track opening after a 7th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 22, 2025.

Sadie Engelhardt is always running. Sadie placed 51st in NCAA Cross Country as a freshman, helping her team, NC State, to the NCAA title. Last weekend, Sadie finished 17th in the 3000m in 9:09.47, her PB at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Boston Opener on December 6, 2025.

The Brooks Run Guide Interviews, Episode #2: Jaelyn Williams, Brooks NIL Athlete

On December 6, 2025, Jaylin Williams nearly stole NXN from the field. Natasha Dudek dominated the race in 16:50.1 over Blair Bartlett in 16:51.7. Jaylin finished third in 16:58 as the Brooks NIL athlete rocked it with the bigs. Watch Jaylen Williams compete at Brooks XC 2025 presented by Fleet Feet Sports next weekend on December 13, 2025 in San Diego, California. On December 13, 2025 Jaylen Williams followed up her CIF win with a third at NXN and a good third at the Brooks XC National Championships presented by Fleet Feet.

Danny Mackey, Founding Coach, Brooks Beasts Track Club

Danny Mackey is the founding coach of the Brooks Beasts Track Club, where he coaches athletes from the 800 meters to the marathon. Most of its athletes compete in distances between 800 meters and 10,000 meters. In the interview, we pick Danny’s thoughts on basic training techniques.

Danny McKee can be seen at cross-country courses, indoor and outdoor meets, and soon he can be seen in road races around the world.

  • Larry Eder has been involved in athletics for 52 years. Larry has experienced sports as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now a journalist and blogger. His first article, about Don Bowden, America’s first 4-minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from USA Track and Field to the American version of Spikes magazine. He currently leads content and marketing development for RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun.
