Wales wins
The Moscow Olympic Games 1980 were injured in boycotts of a number of countries due to Russia’s Invasion. According to the United States, Cuban Silvio Leonard was loved for men 100 m, but Alan Wales in Britain won its quarterfinals at the British record 10.11.
In the final, the fascinating well was drawn in the belt, Leonard Leonard, eight, there was little between the two candidates, and two were twice given in 10.25. In the 200 million finals, the Scottish missed the Gold, losing the Italian Pietro Mennea with 0.02 with a British record of 20.21.
Increased with the recommendations that depreciated by the US boycott, but he took a field that was the best American sprinter of the day and won the best American sprinters of the day.

Hand in the hand in London
Chris Brass’s visit to New York Marathon in 1979 sowed the seed to bring Britain to such an event. The 1956 Olympic champion wasted little time when he launched the London Marathon, in 1981 with the plans for the first edition from Gilett and the Great Board of London.
In the first year, 3,000 or 4,000 runners expected 3,000 or 4,000 runners, but 21,872 applications were admitted to 7,700. Selected on the day of March 29.
The event happened itself was significant, but the end of the men’s race was more memorable when American Dick Dick Simonsen decided later than 2:12:53.
Joyce Smith recorded the British record 2:29:57, to win the women’s race for nine minutes from New Zelander Gilly.

The World Cups Ratings
In 1983, Helsinki provided the staging for the first IAAF world championship.
A total of 1355 athletes from 153 countries competed, US Carl Levis won three gold medals (4×100 m), Steve Crib, and Tina Lille, who wins the crowd of his house. Grete Waitz won the first marathon of women to be challenged in global championships.

The Council of Europe is doing
As before, as in Moscow, SEB Council left the 1500-m final final of the Olympic, which wants to jump in the second place of 800 m.
In Los, he beat Joaquim Cruz, but still caused a series of high quality times. 1 1: 45:41, 1: 46.4. 43.6.64.
The Council of Europe, which was elected for 1,500 m, although Peter Eliot had a lot of criticism and a point to prove. Prove he did, 3. 32.53 performance that broke the Olympic record.
Carefully after the first arm, Steve Scott took the leader with 500 m and streamed with 800 m 1. 56.81 in the Council of Europe, in the second. Although the American faded, the Spaniard Jose Abaskal gave the Council of Europe to Belts, followed by Stevs Cram and Ovet, although the latter ended.
To go 200m, as the dram walked, the Council of Europe answered and clearly struck bent. In his last lap 53.25 helped him pass him more than two seconds from the 16-year Olympic post of Kip Bino. 34.91. CRAM 3: It was clearly the second in 33:40.
The Council of Europe remains the only person who has successfully supported the 1500 m title of the Olympic.

Thompson on top
Daily Thompson can be a controversial figure, but his sports excellence was in a complete demonstration in the Decatlon at the 1984 Olympic Games. He entered the LA, cooperation, the European, World-Olympic champion was invincible for six years in a row and broke the world record twice after the victory in Moscow. His sign, however, was twice surpassed by Jirgen Fifle of West Germany.
It was all the fuel and he needed the man who was headed by Time Last year, the largest Olympic Britain’s Olympic, which took place from the beginning to the end. All of the final event through gold, but 1500 m appeared that, relieving, he missed the world’s record by one point.
The photo cameras, however, found that Thompson had to be given only one unit of obstacles to 110 m and therefore estimated at 8798 of his opponent.

Lewis to four
The charming charm of all the stars in Los Angeles, the United States, needed a star name to follow athletics and it would be determined to Carl Lewis. He was honest about Jesse Owens ambition, winning 100, 200, long jump and 4x100m gold.
Despite the poor start, he was a clear winner of 100 million in 9.99, and the team’s friend Mate Sam’s Britz was in second place in 10:19, Ben Johnson. The long jump was next, and Lewis, but secured the victory with its first jump, 8.54 m. With his only other efforts, he was released, winning 30 cm from Australian barley honey and wary of painful ham, given the workload.
Whether or not the bad leg, he won the 19.80 Olympic record for 200 m at the head of the Olympic record -0.9. He was followed by US teammates Kirk’s baptism (19.96) and Thomas Jefferson (20:26).
The final piece of jigsaw was placed when Lewis anchored the US team to succeed, enjoying a world record record for five meters.
Benoit takes the road
Joan Benosite, champion of the Women’s Olympic marathon, had to do it hard. He had made his place, although 17 days before his knee surgery, he passed 17 days before the trials, and came to the race on the day in Los Angeles, in 1982.
The American raised eyebrows when he decided at pace and hit his front three miles, but he would not give up 2:24: 52, and Mota Take Bronze.

The world champion in America was frowning against a barefoot of South Africa, which quickly gave a British passport on the eve of the Games, but it was over in the flight field, “Maria” Puica was Novi.
In AW report, Mel Watman wrote:

Bubba reaches “impossible”
Mondo Duplantis can now make it a routine, but it seemed impossible to clean six meters in a polar pad.
Sergey Bubbk was the first to do this in Paris 40 years ago, when the 22-year-old children had reached new heights and broke his previous sign – 5.94 m. Despite the grazing of what was done on the chest, and then did not fall into Ukraine, which competed for the Soviet Union, its fifth world record.
The 1983 world champion won the rank of five worlds, as well as Olympic gold in 1988.

“The hottest race of history”
The most memorable and infamous moments in the history of Athletics in the 100 m finals of the 1988 men’s Olympics, which have become known as the “most recent race in history”.
In the 1987 World Cup, Ben Johnson stunned exclusively by Ben Johl Lewis to win the world’s record accounting. Johnson was injured in early 1988 and, let’s take the games, Lewis was faster in all three rounds. He was the ultimate favorite.
Johnson started the perfect beginning, but could not catch, looking at Lewis, throwing his right arm to heaven when the clock blew a world record of 9.79. Lewis ran his fastest time 9.92, but was destroyed.
It soon found that Johnson, who drank he was drinking, was positive for steroids. Later, the Canadian would accept that he had taken drugs during his career, although he insisted that he was framed in Seoul.
He was disqualified, the title of the 1987 world and the world record lost. Lewisi 9:92, after all, was a world record.
“(It) was a good day for athletes,” wrote that time Time Editor Keith Nelson.
Flo-jo fire
Florence Griffith Joyner – or “Flo-Jo” was via Florence Griffith Joyner through its 1988 Olympics. However, he is another figure who is contradictions and has had to reject the accusations of drug use after his record performances.
It was in the US trials when he had a watch in 10.49, a sign of a world record of 100m, but there was a very debate or not or not to be obtained by an illegal tail or not.
In Seoul, he broke the Olympic record twice and won 100 million gold in 10.54.
He then broke the world record twice on the 200 m gold on the way, the clock clock at the final, once again, which still needs to be improved. The third gold was followed by 4×100 m, while he was also part of a team of silver at 4×400 m.
In just 10 years, Griffith Joyner died at the age of 38 after epileptic seizure.

Jubilant Joyner-Kersee
Jackie Joyner-Kersee was another American who prepared in Seoul on top of the chair, but had a spectrum of drug charges (he always rejected any crime). He is a final woman comprehensive, and in 1988, a world record of 7291 units gathered in Heptahlon Gold Gold is a sign that is still standing in the best efforts of Anna Hall. Joys-Marks who married his coach Bobby Karki in Seoul Long Olympics, 7.40 m in the Olympic record.
